Sam Anning Septet

  • The Gallery of Good at Uliveto Cinque Cento 19 Sunnyburn Road Trafalgar, VIC, 3824 Australia (map)

Acclaimed bassist and composer Sam Anning is set to release his highly anticipated album 'Earthen' (Earshift Music) dedicated to the indomitable spirit of Australian music icon Uncle Archie Roach. As Archie's bassist and co-producer, Sam has distilled the wisdom and lessons bestowed upon him by the great songman into a deep and rich understanding of the power of music and its connection to us all.

Featuring an ensemble of long time collaborators and distinguished voices of Australian jazz, Andrea Keller, Kyrie Anderson, Mat Jodrell, Carl Mackey, Julien Wilson, and Theo Carbo, the album draws on the deep well of Archie’s teachings, connection to the moment, resilience of spirit, and the medicinal power of music.

Set to release in April 2024, this extraordinary release promises to be a landmark in the contemporary Australian jazz landscape.

The Gallery of Good is honoured to be able to present the Sam Anning septet at the Gallery of Good.

The Gallery of Good acknowledges that this gig takes place thanks to the generous support of the Federal Government via funding from "Live Music Australia -an Australian Government initiative”
